چکیده

Objective: The natural compound, thymoquinone (TQ) has demonstrated potential anticancer properties in inhibiting cell proliferation and promoting apoptosis myeloid leukemia cells, breast cancer others. However, the effect mechanism of TQ on AML cells still not fully understood. In this study, authors examined effects expression JAK/STAT-negative regulator genes SOCS-1, SOCS-3, SHP-1, their consequences HL60 cells. Methods: MTT trypan blue exclusion tests were conducted to determine 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) proliferation. FITC Annexin Guava® reagent used study examine cycle phases, respectively. genes, was investigated using reverse transcriptase- quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). Results: a inhibition significant increase apoptotic dose time-dependent manner. significantly induced arrest at G0-G1 phase (P < 0.001) enhanced re-expression genes. Conclusion: potentially inhibited increased with suggesting that could be new therapeutic candidate for therapy.

The Effect of Gaillardin on Proliferation and Apoptosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cell Line (Nalm-6)

Background: Due to increased cancer chemotherapy resistance, the use of natural compounds in cancer treatment has been considered in recent years. Inula-Oculus-Christi, is one of the high importance plants in the field of traditional medicine. It has been shown that extract of this plant has cytotoxic effects on breast cancer cells. Objective: Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate t...

Glycyrrhetinic Acid Induces Apoptosis in Leukemic HL60 Cells Through Upregulating of CD95/ CD178

Acute leukemia is characterized by the accumulation of neoplastic cells in the bone marrow and peripheral blood. Currently, chemotherapy and differentiating agents have been used for the treatment of leukemia. Recently, plant extracts, either alone or in combination with chemo agents, have been proposed to be used for the treatment of cancers. The aim of the present research was to study the cy...

Induction of Apoptosis in Human Leukemia Cell Line (HL60) by Animal’s Venom Derived Peptides (ICD-85)

Our previous studies revealed an inhibitory effect of ICD-85 (Venom derived peptides) on breast cancer cell line MDA-MB231. ICD-85 was also confirmed by in-vivo studies to suppress the breast tumor in mice. However, the exact mechanism of ICD-85 was unknown. Hence, the present study was undertaken to assess the mechanism of ICD-85 effect as an anti-proliferative agent of cancer cells. The effec...

Altered expression of cell cycle regulators in adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma patients

Abstract Background: Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is caused by human T-cell lymphotropic virus type-1 (HTLV-1). HTLV-1 oncogenes can induce malignancy through controlled gene expression of cell cycle checkpoints in the host cell. HTLV-I genes play a pivotal role in overriding cell cycle checkpoints and deregulate cellular division. In this study, we aimed to determine and comp...
